DRAKENMORE & THE ALLIANCE OF THE 3
Transcribed by an unknown scribe, said to have resided in Drakenmore. It seems as if they had a deep interest in the Dragons, and have perhaps kept their identity hidden to avoid scrutiny.
The dragon’s nest lies on an island north of Drakemore. The two settlements are separated by a violent sea, teaming with danger and Seamonsters.
The reigning dragon king, king Indra, has sired four offspring in his many years of life. There was his first son, wise and somber Hades, his second daughter, the tyrannical Magdelena, his third son, scornful Bahamut, and his fourth son, virtuous Creedence.
As Indra nears the end of his life, many speculate on which of his four heirs will claim the right to his throne. Will it be the eldest, Hades, or does he see one of his other children as more befitting of the role?
Before the night of Six Stars, the dragon heirs fought fiercely for their chance to become the next ruler of the dragons. Hades and Magdelena were the most viable candidates in the eyes of their peers, with supporters vehemently backing both of them. While Bahamut was seen as fierce and powerful, he was also considered to be too young and inexperienced to be a viable heir, although he still had his supporters. Credence, oh the other hand, decided to set his sights elsewhere. Fearful of the fighting that may ensue over the crown once his father passed, he looked for any solution he could to placate his siblings.
When The Harbinger arrived, he liaised with the dragon king. The plan was revealed to the dragon royal family, and the decision was made— Indra would sacrifice his life for the contract, and Hades would be the new king of the dragons, much to the dismay of Magdelena and Bahamut. Terrified about what this might do to his family, Credence went behind his father’s back, and he spoke with the harbinger. On the night of the six stars, as Indra was on his way to meet with the Harbinger, all he found was a letter. His youngest son has sacrificed himself to save him, and the rest of his family. He was devastated.
When Bahumut found out about the death of his brother, he was outraged. Blinded by a maddening fury, a pillar of fire erupted from his mouth, towering high above the clouds. The blaze was so violent it could be seen all the way from Drakenmore, sparking fear and concern alongside the spread of the new Fel Curse.
Blaming the earthlings for the war that had to be solved, and by extension, the death of his younger brother, Bahumut laid siege to the fortified city. It had been decades since Drakenmore had seen such devastation. The defense was coordinated by the young and newly crowned king Sforza, who staved off Bahumut on the front lines by his own blade. While the damages were catastrophic, this night gave both the king of Drakenmore and the third son of Indra what they had been looking for— credibility, and assuredness of their right to rule.
Eventually, Magdalena arrived to retrieve her wounded brother, and the battle was at an end.
In honor of Creedence’s sacrifice, Indra, and his three remaining children, vowed to work together to end the war, and to strengthen their kingdom. The dilemma of who would succeed the crown, would have to wait.
Both Hades and Indra fell into a deep depression after the death of Creedence, and little has been seen of them since. Meanwhile, Magdalena meticulously patrols the seas between the Dragon’s nest and Drakenmore, while Bahumut sits at the helm as commander of the dragon’s army. Some now begin to wonder if Bahamut will one day prove himself worthy to become the new dragon king.
Notes for Characters / TL;DRs
- The siege on Drakenmore happened 10 years ago on the Night of Six Stars. Characters are free to have been present, and to have fought with Bahamut and/or other dragons who flew to the city with him.
- Drakenmore has been rebuilding from this attack up until the present day.
- King Sforza’s support had been tepid up until the attack. He is now well respected and known as the king who protected the city from the wrath of the dragon prince. Both he and Bahamut bear scars from the battle. King Sforza is currently still the ruler of Drakenmore.
NPC Facts
- Indra uses he/him pronouns and is 115 years old. He has Soul Magic. Some speculate that he may have passed by now, but it is unconfirmed.
- Hades uses he/him pronouns and is 73 years old. He has Loop Magic.
- Magdalena uses she/they/it pronouns and is 59 years old. She has Loop Magic.
- Bahamut uses he/him pronouns and is 38 years old. He has Soul Magic.
- Credence used he/they pronouns and was 28 at the time of his death. He had Soul magic.
- King Sforza uses he/him pronouns. He is currently 42 years old and an Earthling. He appears to be a wolf, but may have other animal traits.
- It is unknown if Indra had a partner and/or partners.
- Bahamut is seen sometimes, and Magdelena is often seen in the distance from Drakenmore, patrolling the seas.
- Indra and Magdelena are the same size, with Hades being slightly smaller in size, and Bahamut smaller still. Credence was the smallest of all of them.
- Magdalena is often called a wyvern instead of a dragon due to her front limbs being used as wings.
